BEHAVIORAL WELLNESS AND RECOVERY, WEST CHESTER, PA

BWR | A Leading Addiction Treatment Program in PA

.
BWR Drug Addiction & Alcoholism Treatment in West Chester PABehavioral Wellness and Recovery of Pennsylvania (BWR) is a 40-bed dual diagnosis, drug and alcohol rehab, serving those over the age of 18 who require treatment to overcome their addiction. We are centrally located in West Chester, PA about 45 minutes west of Philadelphia International Airport.

The staff at Behavioral Wellness and Recovery prides itself on providing drug addiction, alcoholism, and mental health treatment utilizing clinically proven evidence-based practices and a multidisciplinary team approach. Our goal is to provide high-quality, patient driven drug and alcohol rehab.

It is strongly recommended that patients initially participate in residential drug and alcohol rehab prior to returning home. This allows patients to develop recovery coping skills prior to facing the challenges of the ‘real world’.

BWR provides conventional and non-conventional modalities of treatment, such as substance abuse counseling, psychiatric and medical care, and recreation and music therapy. After you discharge from our addiction treatment program, we will still be here to answer any questions you may have ab out drug and alcohol recovery once you arrive home, and to offer support and recommendations as you transition back into your community.

Regardless of where your home community is located, Behavioral Wellness and Recovery can aid with your recovery. Although most of our patients are from the Northeast, particularly Pennsylvania, BWR treats patients from all areas. Behavioral Wellness and Recovery has well-established protocols to assist our out-of-state our patients with admission to our drug and alcohol rehab. Many of our patients are from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Maryland. In Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous (AA, NA), it is commonly said that one must change people, places, and things to achieve and maintain sobriety. Seeking care in Pennsylvania and being removed from triggers and other negative influences at home may be your answer in achieving long-term sobriety.

Our clinical and medical treatment staff believes in providing family-centric addiction treatment, which allows the patients and family members an opportunity to better understand their positive and negative relationship dynamics, to establish better communication skills, and to understand how the family has affected addictive behaviors and how the substance abuse has affected the family system. Relationship therapy will also allow the entire family to understand the medical model of addiction and to replace negative, destructive behaviors with positive behaviors.

We, at Behavioral Wellness and Recovery, understand that the treatment received in a drug and alcohol rehab center is only the beginning of the journey to health, happiness, and long-term recovery. As such, we are focused on helping our patients and their family members develop coping skills and to learn relationship development techniques that can be utilized in the community in real-life situations. Fostering the ability to develop a network of support in the community is paramount to a healthy drug and alcohol recovery. Also provided will be a clearly delineated plan to access all necessary resources to continue dual diagnosis care. It is well known that an untreated dual diagnosis disorder, such as anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder can lead to drug addiction and alcoholism relapse.

Behavioral Wellness and Recovery is fully committed to adhering to professional ethics. We do not discriminate based on patient characteristics. Each drug and alcohol addiction treatment plan is developed, in conjunction with the patient, the family, and the treatment team to provide care that is tailored to the specific care needs. BWR utilizes a multidisciplinary approach, involving the clinical, medical, psychiatric, and ancillary teams in all treatment recommendations.

The medical model of addiction is central to the philosophy of addiction treatment at Behavioral Wellness and Recovery. Our patients will receive the medical and mental health care that they require to treat everyone’s specific care needs. Our psychiatric team is highly involved in developing the short and long-term care plans. We do not believe that addiction is just a “bad habit.” The staff at BWR believes that drug addiction and alcoholism develop due to multifactorial influences, such as one’s environment and genetics, as well as co-existing disorders, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. Those patients who suffer from a co-occurring (dual diagnosis) disorder will benefit from BWR’s commitment to simultaneously treat addiction and mental health disorders.

Don’t let shame, guilt, and the feeling of helplessness stand in your way of a leading fulfilling life. Behavioral Wellness and Recovery can help you eliminate the psychological, behavioral, and emotional barriers to substance abuse and mental health recovery.
