BEHAVIORAL WELLNESS AND RECOVERY, WEST CHESTER, PA
BWR | A Leading Addiction Treatment Program in PA
Behavioral Wellness and Recovery of Pennsylvania (BWR) is a 40-bed dual diagnosis, drug and alcohol treatment center, serving those over the age of 18 who require treatment to overcome their addiction. We are centrally located in West Chester, PA about 45 minutes west of Philadelphia International Airport.
The staff at BWR prides itself on providing addiction and mental health treatment utilizing clinically proven evidence-based practices and a multidisciplinary team approach. Our goal is to provide high-quality, patient driven healthcare. BWR provides conventional and non-conventional modalities of treatment, such as recreation and music therapy. After you discharge from our program, we will be here to answer any questions you may have once you arrive home, and to offer support and recommendations as you transition back into your community.
Our clinical and medical staff believes in providing family-centric care, which allows the patients and family members an opportunity to better understand their positive and negative relationship dynamics, to establish better communication skills, and to understand how the family has affected addictive behaviors and how the substance abuse has affected the family system. Relationship therapy will also allow the entire family to understand the medical model of addiction and to replace negative, destructive behaviors with positive behaviors.
We, at BWR, understand that the treatment received in a drug and alcohol rehab center is only the beginning of the journey to health, happiness, and long-term recovery. As such, we are focused on helping our patients and their family members develop coping skills and relationship development techniques that can be utilized in the community in real-life situations. Fostering the ability to develop a network of support in the community is paramount to a healthy recovery.
Behavioral Wellness and Recovery is fully committed to adhering to professional ethics. We do not discriminate based on patient characteristics. Each treatment plan is developed, in conjunction with the patient, the family and the treatment team to provide care that is tailored to the specific care needs. BWR utilizes a multidisciplinary approach, involving the clinical, medical, and ancillary teams in all treatment recommendations.
The medical model of addiction is central to the philosophy of addiction treatment at BWR. Our patients will receive the medical and mental health care that they require to treat specific care needs. Our psychiatric team is highly involved in developing the short and long-term care plans. We do not believe that addiction is just a “bad habit.” The staff at BWR believes that drug addiction and alcoholism develops due to multifactorial influences, such as environment and genetics, as well as co-existing disorders, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. Those patients who suffer from a co-occurring disorder will benefit from BWR’s commitment to simultaneously treat addiction and mental health disorders.
Don’t let shame, guilt, and the feeling of helplessness stand in your way of a fulfilling life. Behavioral Wellness and Recovery can help you eliminate the psychological, behavioral, and emotional barriers to recovery.
